What is Fascia?

Fascia is the large connective tissue found throughout your entire body. It is attached to your bones, muscles, organs, and nerves. Fascia holds us together and so it is imperative to restore and maintain its natural elasticity.

 

What is Fascial Stretch Therapy (FST)?

FST is a pain-free modality used to increase range of motion, relieve pain, tightness, and increase athletic performance. The total-body stretching program takes place on a treatment table with stabilization straps. FST is stretching, mobilizing, strengthening, and stabilizing of all fascial layers.

 

Why Should I Get Stretched?

Based on scientific research and fundamental principles through lengthening the deep tissue inside the joint capsule to the muscles and all connective tissues in between, everyone can benefit from fascial stretching, from athletes to everyday people living with chronic pain. FST lengthens, re-aligns and re-organizes the fascia; this enables you to:

-prevent injury, chronic pain, and joint deterioration

-recover from sports, surgery, and injury

-sustain movement, flexibility, and a healthy lifestyle

-improve flexibility, balance, posture, muscle activation, relaxation, and sleep

Can’t I just stretch myself at home?

Of course! And you should! However, fascial stretch therapy is deep stretching that can only be accomplished with assistance by a certified fascial stretch therapist.

 

What is structural joint alignment?

Structural joint alignment is recommended for chronic pain and discomfort, limited range of movement, and rehabilitation. By balancing the entire skeletal system, benefits of aligning the joints include pain-free movement, proper breathing, and overall sense of ease. This method is also for athletes (swimmers, runners, surfers, weightlifters, and others) who wish to improve their sport and break their record best.

 

What is energy clearing and balancing?

If you’ve exhausted your options in physical recovery or feel a sense of heaviness on your chest, there may be energetic blockages that need clearing. In an energy session, we pinpoint the root cause of your troubles and release any negative attachments you still have to a past event. Benefits range from breathing more deeply and easily, feeling lighter and brighter, feeling stronger physically and emotionally, being able to feel neutral in the face of triggers and clarity and confidence in making decisions.

How to Prepare for Your Appointment:

Come relaxed, hydrated, and ready to breathe.

 

What to Wear:

Gym or yoga attire; clothing that you can be stretched in.
For energy work, come as you are.

I am a Level-3 and sports-specific certified Fascial Stretch Therapist (FST) living in Nosara, Costa Rica. I received my FST training at the Stretch to Win Institute and I am a member of the Fascial Stretch Therapy Association (FSTA). My energy trainings were completed through The Healer’s Academy and The Alchemist’s Arts Healing. Additionally, I am a Pilates instructor trained through Balanced Body and a believer that movement therapy promotes physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
